During the flanging operation, the plate's edge undergoes shaping through precision-controlled flanging rolls, with these rolls adjusting relative to the radius of the forming roll. Both rolls collaboratively rotate and manipulate the material to achieve the desired curvature. It's important to note that this operation may potentially result in plate layering. To ensure optimal results and minimize material thinning, it is imperative to employ high-quality machinery capable of achieving the flanging with a minimal number of passes.
An effective flanging machine should also feature a control mechanism that consistently ensures the optimal alignment of the rolling rollers with the sheet metal. This capability encompasses the capacity for tilting the flanging and shaping rollers as needed.
